1.  Select a public service topic, such as increase use of public transportation or eat more local food.  Try to make it specific and local.  For example don’t use “Reduce carbon emissions” but rather “increase use of public transportation”.  Generate a list of at least 8 potential topics and then select one.  (You will submit the list with your project.)

3. What approach will you take to influence people to take action?  You will submit the dreamer and realist lists with your project.

• Be a dreamer- think of as many fantastical, absurd and ridiculous ideas as you can.  (At least 10)
• Be a realist– take a look at your ideas and see what concepts you can work with.  Create again!  Rework and reshape your thoughts.
• Be a critic– evaluate the attainability of your ideas.  

3a.  As the Dreamer, you can also try using conceptual blending, similarities vs. differences and playfulness.  Laugh–have fun with it!   Make a list of at least 10 fantastical, absurd and ridiculous ideas as you can.

3b.  Now become the Realist.  From your Dreamer list, select at least five ideas to rework and reshape.

3c.  Finally, as a Critic, evaluate each approach from the Realist list and evaluate how practical each one is.  Are they attainable? 

4.  The final paragraph should reflect the process you took to complete the project.  

Each item on the list above should represent a section of your paper.  The paper should include your lists as well as complete and comprehensive answers to the questions, demonstrating that you have an understanding of the creative methods that were introduced over the last few weeks of this course. This assignment should be 3.5 pages double-spaced.
