In this assignment, the purpose is to create a work that is approximately 550-600  words in which you state your topic, the controversy within it and finally your thesis statement.  Keep in mind that the course is designed around writing an argumentative one.  That means that within the topic there is a controversy with pro and con sides.  Your thesis statement is to state your position on this controversy.
